Olfa AK-1 Standard Art and Graphics Cutter with 25 Blades
Founded in 1956 in Osaka by Yoshio Okada, the OLFA brand was born from a practical need — to create a blade that wouldn't need constant sharpening. Okada drew his inspiration from breaking chocolate bars into segments and the sharp edges of accidentally broken glass, leading him to invent the world's first snap-off blade. Interestingly, the name itself comes from the Japanese words "oru" (to break) and "ha" (blade). In 1979, the company introduced another revolutionary tool — the rotary cutter — which quickly became popular worldwide, and today OLFA remains a recognised leader in premium-quality cutting tools.
About this product:
- Premium Japanese steel – crafted from carbon tool steel using a precise multi-stage Olfa sharpening process, ensuring exceptional sharpness and durability;
- Designed for precision work – ultra-sharp tip and 32.8-degree angle are ideally suited for intricate tasks, graphic design, and modelling;
- Wide application for arts and crafts – perfectly suited for precise cutting of paper, cardboard, film, vinyl, acetate, lightweight fabrics, and other creative materials;
- Compatibility with art knives – these 6 mm wide blades are fully adapted for use with popular Olfa AK-1 and Olfa AK-4 precision art knives;
- Practical 25-pack – the convenient storage case ensures safe blade storage and provides a reliable supply for long-term projects.
